Quai d'Orsay is a brand designed specifically for the French market. Created in the 1970s, it takes its name from the famous quays along the Seine in Paris. All its vitolas, which are designed to be light, are made from a combination of leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region and dressed in Claro (wax) or Colorado Claro (light brown) capes. All are Totalmento a Mano, Trip Larga (entirely handmade, long filler).

The Quai d'Orsay Corona was available in two versions, Coronas Claro and Coronas Claro Claro. The name behind ‘Coronas’ refers to the colour of the packaging, which in the first case means Colorado Claro (chestnut brown) and in the second case ‘Clarissimo’, which means almost green. However, the second version has disappeared over time. The Quai d'Orsay Corona Claro pampers smokers with pleasant cocoa flavours, combined with woody notes and earthy tones. It is exceptionally mild for a Cuban cigar, making it ideal for beginners.

Brand Story
The brand is named after Don Alejandro Robaina, considered Cuba's finest veguero. He inherited a small estate of 18 hectares in San Luis. This property has just been enlarged by the state, which has offered Don Alejandro a further ten hectares. Paradoxically, Cuba wanted to pay tribute to the private vegueros who form the backbone of tobacco production. The Robaina family, which specialises in growing wrapper leaves under tapados, has achieved unique results. Over 70% of production is approved for export, whereas most fincas rarely exceed 20 or 30%. Don Alejandro alone dresses over a million Havanas!
