It's no coincidence that the brand was launched in England in November 1996. Cuaba was officially born of a gamble by the directors of Habanos SA to revive the fashion for figurados, highly prized by the British in the 19th century.
Juan Carlos Izqierdo Gonzalez, torcedor for 48 years at Romeo y Julieta, was entrusted with the task of training the first professionals in this very special technique. Today, the “Romeo y Julieta” factory has a special school dedicated to training torcedores for the Cuaba.
