San Cristóbal de la Habana was the first name given to Havana, when it was founded in 1519.

Both in honor of Christopher Columbus (hence San Cristobal) and in reference to the name given to the site by the Indians (La Habana).

The San Cristóbal de la Habana brand was launched in 1999, at the dawn of the new millennium, as a tribute to the long history of the Cuban capital.

All the brand's vitolas are hand-crafted with long tripe.
