José L. Piedra is a very special brand. Unlike most Habanos, the leaves used in its vitolas come exclusively from the Vuelta Arriba region.

Originally from Asturias, the Piedra family arrived in Cuba in the 1880s. They were to settle down and start cigar production near the town of Santa Clara, in the heart of the Vuelta Arriba region, where tobacco cultivation had already begun in the 16th century.
It was José Lamadrid Piedra, of the second Piedra generation, who was to create and develop the brand as we know it today.

José L. Piedra vitolas are all made totally by hand, tripa corta.
