In the Vuelta Abajo, it is traditional for vegueros (tobacco growers) to make their own cigars. And anyone visiting this region of the Pinar del Rio province would want to taste these cigars made in the very places where the best tobacco in the world grows. So, in 1996, a brand called Vegueros was launched, a tribute to the countless generations of farmers in the Pinar del Rio region who devote their lives to tobacco.

Veguero is the Spanish word for tobacco farmer. Without him, there would be no tobacco for cigars. His work is hard and arduous. Every single one of the often over one hundred thousand plants on a plantation has to be checked and tended by him more than 150 times during a growing season. The Vegueros brand is dedicated to these important workers,Q who have been cultivating tobacco in the Pinar del Rio region for generations. Although the brand has been on the market since 1996, it was launched in 2014 in a completely new form: with three formats produced for the first time, a fresh design and innovative packaging.
