Initially, there was only one Trinidad size: the Fundadore. In 2003, three other sizes - Reyes, Coloniales and Robusto Extra (later discontinued) - were added to the range. At the same time, the Trinidad book and ring were updated in recognition of the brand's prestige. For several years, Trinidad was manufactured at El Laguito, Cohiba's factory, where its blend of tripe leaves and sub-cape from the Vuelta Abajo region was developed, with its unique fragrance and aroma and medium flavor. At the end of 2004, demand in Trinidad outstripped El Laguito's production capacity, and it was decided to transfer the manufacture of all the brand's formats to Pinar del Rio City. This is where Trinidad is made today, close to the famous Vuelta Abajo plantations.Launched in 2004 and retired after eight years, this vitola left a lasting mark on cigar lovers. In 2024, Habanos S.A. revived it for the Trinidad brand’s 55th anniversary during the Habanos World Days in London. Presented in elegant boxes of three, the cigars feature three bands, including a commemorative anniversary band and the iconic “T” foot band. The medium-bodied Robusto Extra measures 6 1/8” by 50 ring gauge, with a signature pigtail cap. Hand-rolled with select Vuelta Abajo leaves, it preserves the classic, aromatic character of the original.
