Macallan is a Scottish whiskey distillery nestled in the Speyside region. Macallan happens to be a legendary whiskey distillery. Created in 1824 by Alexander Reid, it offers an unpeated whiskey and is based on 6 pillars: The estate and its history including Easter Elchies House, the small stills which forge the character of Macallan's "new make", oak barrels worked with great care, the use of sherry wine barrels thanks to collaborations with bodegas on specific shaping, a natural color and know-how perpetuated within the distillery since 1824. Finally, despite its glorious heritage and its luxurious advances, Macallan sports a strong green policy thanks to the arrival of the new distillery in 2018.

The Macallan 18 Years Sherry Oak Cask 2023 is aged exclusively in hand-picked sherry casks, which give the whiskey its characteristic taste. These barrels are made from European and American oak, which are pre-filled with the best Oloroso sherry. During the 18 years of maturation, the whiskey absorbs the aromas and taste nuances of sherry and develops exceptional complexity.

Tasting Notes

Nose : Treacle tart with stem ginger, soaked raisins and sultanas with a hint of orange and ground cinnamon.

Palate : Soft and rich, with flavours of dark chocolate coated ginger with dates and dried apricots, balanced with oak and the sweetness of vanilla.

Finish : Lingering with dried fruits, ginger and oak.
