Macallan is a Scottish whiskey distillery nestled in the Speyside region. Macallan happens to be a legendary whiskey distillery. Created in 1824 by Alexander Reid, it offers an unpeated whiskey and is based on 6 pillars: The estate and its history including Easter Elchies House, the small stills which forge the character of Macallan's "new make", oak barrels worked with great care, the use of sherry wine barrels thanks to collaborations with bodegas on specific shaping, a natural color and know-how perpetuated within the distillery since 1824. Finally, despite its glorious heritage and its luxurious advances, Macallan sports a strong green policy thanks to the arrival of the new distillery in 2018.

Product Detail

The Sherry Oak range is dominated by European oak and sherry seasoned in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. This 25 year old classic from Macallan Distillery is matured exclusively in Oloroso Sherry casks. These casks are sourced from air-dried Spanish trees and then filled for 18 months with the world-famous liqueur from Jerez, and ultimately it is these casks that transform Macallan's 'new spirit', fresh from the stills for many years, into a single malt whisky with aromas of dried fruit, oak and spice.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Dried orange slices, raisins, sultanas and apricot with ginger syrup and oak.

Palate: Rich dried fruits, black cherries and chocolate with crystallised ginger and toasted almonds.

Finish: Long with dried fruits, dark chocolate and oak.
