Macallan is a Scottish whiskey distillery nestled in the Speyside region. Macallan happens to be a legendary whiskey distillery. Created in 1824 by Alexander Reid, it offers an unpeated whiskey and is based on 6 pillars: The estate and its history including Easter Elchies House, the small stills which forge the character of Macallan's "new make", oak barrels worked with great care, the use of sherry wine barrels thanks to collaborations with bodegas on specific shaping, a natural color and know-how perpetuated within the distillery since 1824. Finally, despite its glorious heritage and its luxurious advances, Macallan sports a strong green policy thanks to the arrival of the new distillery in 2018.

Product Detail

The Macallan releases a new Rare Cask bottling each year. For this, we chose from a few precious barrels cereal brandies with the desired qualities to bring them together into a single malt in this case, we wanted to create a silky and complex whiskey with intense notes of sweet raisins. Despite the absence of an age indication, the drop carries a proud price, due to its rarity value. As always, the barrels are carefully selected, toasted and "seasoned" at great expense, as today there are hardly any barrels recycled by Spanish sherry producers. The strong influence of sherry is reflected in Rare Cask Whiskey, both in color and taste.

Tasting Notes

Nose : Soft notes of vanilla with rich raisin, followed by a sweet fusion of fresh apple, lemon and orange.

Palate : An intense sweet raisin dominates before giving way to vanilla and dark chocolate, with layers of light citrus zest.

Finish : Long, rich and velvety.
