Brand Story

The history of Balvenie is closely linked to that of other distilleries. It all began in 1892 in Dufftown when John and William Grant decided, after having built Glenfiddich not far away, to build a second distillery. You will have understood, she will be named Balvenie. The distillery has always belonged to the same company since its creation: William Grant and Sons. Balvenie’s reputation is that of a distillery of absolute classicism. It's hard to find a Balvenie that's bad, just as it was difficult at one time to find a version that was off the beaten track. A new range in place for two years has changed the situation and today The Balvenie has a new face.

The Stories The Balvenie announces the launch of The Balvenie Stories collection of single malt whiskeys reflecting the character, effort and craftsmanship that characterize The Balvenie distillery in Scotland. An evolution of The Balvenie Peat Week 14 Year Old, which launched globally in 2017. This expression tells the story of Master Distiller David Stewart MBE and former Distillery Director Ian Millar , who took advantage of a one-week gap in the distillery's production program to test peat in the barley drying process, on samples of various ages taken since 2002. The result is a classic The Balvenie expression, with notes of honey, vanilla and citrus and an added touch of smokiness.
