Brand Story
The "Chivas Brothers", James and John Chivas, began their careers as delicatessen merchants in Aberdeen in 1801. The business of providing fine cuisine to Europe's elite was booming, and one day the brothers came up with the idea of enriching their cellar with a few casks of distinctive Scotch whisky, and later even producing their own. From the 1840s onwards, they not only supplied Queen Victoria with high-quality blends, but also became suppliers to the court of the KuK monarchy. Against this backdrop, it was only a matter of time before the exclusive brand made its international breakthrough, so it's no surprise that Chivas Regal is now considered the world's second-largest Scotch whisky maker. Although the company was taken over by the Pernod Ricard Group in 2001, the excellence of Chivas blends has remained unchanged - thanks, of course, to the skill of master blender Colin Scott.
