The brand was created in the 1930s. On the outside of the lids of its tins is a very curious text, written in English. This text states that the Habanos in the tin should be smoked within a month of being shipped from the port of Havana (at the time Habanos travelled by sea), otherwise it was preferable to leave them to age carefully for a year.
Its vitolas, made from leaves grown in the Vuelta Abajo region, are characterised by their lightness.Trinidad is one of the most prestigious brands of Habanos. The brand was created in 1969 and, like Cohiba, remained an exclusive gift for diplomats and foreign dignitaries for many years. In 1998, the brand was commercialised. Rafael Gonzalez Petit Coronas offers smokers a creamy, slightly sweet smoke. Petit Coronas is a longfiller made with tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo growing region. In 2024, Habanos S.A. revived it for the Trinidad brand’s 55th anniversary during the Habanos World Days in London. Presented in elegant boxes of three, the cigars feature three bands, including a commemorative anniversary band and the iconic “T” foot band. The medium-bodied Robusto Extra measures 6 1/8” by 50 ring gauge, with a signature pigtail cap. Hand-rolled with select Vuelta Abajo leaves, it preserves the classic, aromatic character of the original.
