It was in the 1870s that a Spanish businessman, Juan Lopez, set up his own factory and named it after himself.
The 'La Flor de Juan Lopez' brand was created in 1876. Made from the finest leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region, the brand was considered one of the leading brands for 2 decades.Trinidad is one of the most prestigious brands of Habanos. The brand was created in 1969 and, like Cohiba, remained an exclusive gift for diplomats and foreign dignitaries for many years. In 1998, the brand was commercialised. The Trinidad brand is aimed above all at Habanos lovers looking for absolute quality with an exclusive character.

You can smell the mild body at cold of this Cuban cigar. Very smooth but not so sweet as the Hoyo Epicure No.2. There are herbal and woody aromas with dry notes of earthy flavours. Smooth to start with, it gets milder and milder very quickly. The tabac imprints strongly on the palate as the smoke is densed. The construction of this Juan Lopez is flawless, dense at cold but relaxes when lit, which makes the draw amazing. This Cuban cigar is accessible to new smokers but an experienced smoker will also find complexity after 3 years of age.Launched in 2004 and retired after eight years, this vitola left a lasting mark on cigar lovers. In 2024, Habanos S.A. revived it for the Trinidad brand’s 55th anniversary during the Habanos World Days in London. Presented in elegant boxes of three, the cigars feature three bands, including a commemorative anniversary band and the iconic “T” foot band. The medium-bodied Robusto Extra measures 6 1/8” by 50 ring gauge, with a signature pigtail cap. Hand-rolled with select Vuelta Abajo leaves, it preserves the classic, aromatic character of the original.
