Diplomaticos is a relatively recent brand, having been launched in the 1960s. In many ways, its vitolas are reminiscent of Montecristo.

The brand was created in 1969 and, like Cohiba, remained an exclusive gift for diplomats and foreign dignitaries for many years. In 1998, the brand was commercialised. Diplomaticos No. 2 offers a classic Piramides format from a number of Cuban brands. Their blend includes top-quality tobaccos that produce a creamy smoke. The cigar has a fine, balanced set of aromas and guarantees a particularly slow, even burn, making the pleasure an experience. We often find that the tobacco blends are similar to those of Montecristo.Launched in 2004 and retired after eight years, this vitola left a lasting mark on cigar lovers. In 2024, Habanos S.A. revived it for the Trinidad brand’s 55th anniversary during the Habanos World Days in London. Presented in elegant boxes of three, the cigars feature three bands, including a commemorative anniversary band and the iconic “T” foot band. The medium-bodied Robusto Extra measures 6 1/8” by 50 ring gauge, with a signature pigtail cap. Hand-rolled with select Vuelta Abajo leaves, it preserves the classic, aromatic character of the original.
