Quai d'Orsay is a brand designed specifically for the French market. Created in the 1970s, it takes its name from the famous quays along the Seine in Paris. All its vitolas, which are designed to be light, are made from a combination of leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region and dressed in Claro (wax) or Colorado Claro (light brown) capes. All are Totalmento a Mano, Trip Larga (entirely handmade, long filler).

The Quai d'Orsay Corona was available in two versions, Coronas Claro and Coronas Claro Claro. The name behind ‘Coronas’ refers to the colour of the packaging, which in the first case means Colorado Claro (chestnut brown) and in the second case ‘Clarissimo’, which means almost green. However, the second version has disappeared over time. The Quai d'Orsay Corona Claro pampers smokers with pleasant cocoa flavours, combined with woody notes and earthy tones. It is exceptionally mild for a Cuban cigar, making it ideal for beginners.

As an R&D researcher for 47 years, it's natural for Rod to look for a solution to any problem or frustration he encounters. And having a solid background in science and mechanical engineering is no stranger to this approach. Rod's journey into creating innovative cigar accessories began with a few frustrations that simply drove him mad! One of his favourite cigars, the Cuban Montecristo No. 2, has a tapered end. When he smokes a tapered cigar, Rod doesn't like to cut the tip too much. But he has consistently struggled with the extreme narrowness of the draw with this particular cigar. Preferring a slightly lighter draw resistance, Rod found that he often encountered cigars with firmer draws than he preferred. After an exhaustive search for an effective draw tool, Rod found nothing! Nothing on the market seemed to work. This led him to create what later became known as the PerfecDraw, not only his best-known accessory, but also a whole range of high-quality accessories.

After filling the new Jet Flame lighter, nothing works. Why won't it work? Because, on the one hand, high-quality lighter gas must be used and, on the other, the lighter must be vented. Venting has to be done with a high-quality tool, as the usual toothpick and screwdriver are certainly not suitable for this. In many cases, the overpressure still present in the lighter is responsible for the jet flame giving up the ghost after a few attempts to fill it, and it can no longer be filled properly. The lighter breather is strong enough to provide sufficient pressure on the valve. In addition, an exit hole is positioned so that any remaining gas can escape easily and in a controlled manner from both sides of the lighter. The vent ensures that excess pressure can escape and the nozzles of the jet lighter can work properly again.
