The first lighter Colibri was produced in 1928, but the company's founder, Julius Lowenthal, had been immersed in the world of lighters practically since their inception, having started out in a firm specializing in "smokers' articles" in 1910, at just 18 years of age.

Another innovation from Colibri. The Slide II Double-Jet Flame, in brushed chrome, features a truly revolutionary "push-up" ignition system. Using the natural force of the user's hand, flame ignition is triggered by pushing the thumb up and away from the hand, releasing the flame completely and making cigar lighting much easier and hassle-free. A removable 7 mm cigar cutter is also located on the back of the lighter. It's always at hand to prepare your premium cigar before lighting it. The large-capacity gas tank features a unique blue Colibri window, making it quick and easy to read the fill level.
