Cohiba is the flagship brand of Havana cigars. Created in 1966 for Fidel Castro himself, Cohiba cigars were manufactured in the greatest secrecy at the time, and are now produced in the world-famous El Laguito factory. Originally, Cohiba cigars were only available outside Cuba as gifts for visiting heads of state and diplomats. The leaves destined for the Cohiba brand are the "crème de la crème" of the five Vegas Finas de Primera; the best plantations in the San Juan y Martinez and San Luis regions. These two sites are both located in the Vuelta Abajo tobacco production zone par excellence. The "1492" line was created to celebrate each of the centuries that have passed since Christopher Columbus discovered Cuba in 1492.
Product Detail
The Siglo IV begins with the peppery notes common to Cuban cigars, but also sweet and woody flavours. The first third is rather creamy, leading to a peppery finish without harshness or bitterness.
