Cohiba Siglo 1
Cohiba Siglo 1
Description
Brand Story
Cohiba is the flagship brand of Havana cigars. Created in 1966 for Fidel Castro himself, the brand was manufactured in the greatest secrecy at the time, and is now produced in the world-famous El Laguito factory. Originally, Cohiba cigars were only available outside Cuba as gifts for visiting heads of state and diplomats. The leaves for the Cohiba brand are the ‘crème de la crème’ of the five Vegas Finas de Primera, the best plantations in the San Juan y Martinez and San Luis regions. These two sites are both located in the Vuelta Abajo tobacco production area par excellence. The ‘1492’ line was created to celebrate each of the centuries that have passed since Christopher Columbus discovered Cuba in 1492.
Product Detail
The cigar begins with a big tobacco taste, which is slowly rounded out by notes of roasted nuts, spices and caramel. The taste softens in the second and final thirds, with hints of wood and hay. This is an excellent option for connoisseurs who want a cigar to smoke later in their smoking session, having already enjoyed a mild or medium-bodied option.
