Brand Story
Cohiba is the flagship brand of Havana cigars. Created in 1966 for Fidel Castro himself, Cohiba cigars were manufactured in the greatest secrecy at the time, and are now produced in the world-famous El Laguito factory. Originally, Cohiba cigars were only available outside Cuba as gifts for visiting heads of state and diplomats. Since 1982, the brand has been available on the world market. The leaves destined for the Cohiba brand are the "crème de la crème" of the five Vegas Finas de Primera; the best plantations in the San Juan y Martinez and San Luis regions. These two sites are both located in the Vuelta Abajo tobacco production zone par excellence. A unique process for Havanas, two leaves of the tripe (seco and ligero) undergo a third fermentation in casks, which adds a certain sweetness to the tobacco's aroma.Trinidad is one of the most prestigious brands of Habanos. The brand was created in 1969 and, like Cohiba, remained an exclusive gift for diplomats and foreign dignitaries for many years. In 1998, the brand was commercialised. The Trinidad brand is aimed above all at Habanos lovers looking for absolute quality with an exclusive character.
