Chivas Regal 25 Years Whisky
Chivas Regal 25 Years Whisky
Description
Brand Story
The origins of Chivas Regal Scotch whisky can be traced back to 1840. At that time, two brothers, James and John Chivas, ran a delicatessen at 13 King Street in Aberdeen. They sold luxury products - coffee, exotic spices, French brandies and Caribbean rum - to a wealthy clientele. Year after year, the two brothers were faced with increasing demand for a smoother, rounder whisky than those they were selling. So they decided to blend several of the best ageing Scotch malt and grain whiskies to create a unique character. The Chivas brothers made blending history by creating the world's very first luxury scotch, a 25-year-old blend they called Chivas Regal.
Product Detail
Chivas 25 is a rare and exclusive blend of the finest Scotch whiskies, all aged for a minimum of 25 years. The legendary Chivas 25 was the world's first luxury whisky, launched in 1909 to American high society in New York. With its seductive fruitiness and long, luxurious finish on the palate, it's easy to see why Chivas 25 has made such a successful comeback. The First World War and Prohibition led to the disappearance of Chivas 25, which became a collector's item. It wasn't until 1950 that Chivas returned as a 12-year-old whisky. In 2007, Chivas' fifth Master Blender, Colin Scott, inspired by the original recipe, recreated Chivas Regal 25 to celebrate the starting point of the story.
