Quai d'Orsay is a brand designed specifically for the French market. Created in the 1970s, it takes its name from the famous quays along the Seine in Paris. All its vitolas, which are designed to be light, are made from a combination of leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region and dressed in Claro (wax) or Colorado Claro (light brown) capes. All are Totalmento a Mano, Trip Larga (entirely handmade, long filler).

The Quai d'Orsay Corona was available in two versions, Coronas Claro and Coronas Claro Claro. The name behind ‘Coronas’ refers to the colour of the packaging, which in the first case means Colorado Claro (chestnut brown) and in the second case ‘Clarissimo’, which means almost green. However, the second version has disappeared over time. The Quai d'Orsay Corona Claro pampers smokers with pleasant cocoa flavours, combined with woody notes and earthy tones. It is exceptionally mild for a Cuban cigar, making it ideal for beginners.
Before developing the BX3, C.A.O. had already gained some experience with Brazilian tobacco varieties in its award-winning CAO Brazilia and Amazon Basin blends. For C.A.O., it was undisguised evidence that the rich soils of this region - which produce some of the most aroma-rich coffees in the world - give the tobacco varieties grown there an indescribable depth of taste. With BX3, C.A.O. wants to see how far she can take these flavors and what exotic intensity she can bring to the table, while still providing the balanced profile that C.A.O. is known for. The cigar is coated with a dark and oily Brazilian Mata Fina cover leaf, which brings depth and intensity of taste to the blend. The Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper, smooth and slightly sweet, but also earthy, brings together an exciting combination of premium filler tobaccos from Brazil, Honduras, Mexico and Nicaragua. The result is something that C.A.O. is very proud. A taste profile that is intense, but not overpowering. It is perfectly strong and highlights the depth of these intensely flavored tobaccos. When C.A.O. set out to discover CAO BX3, they had only one objective:
