The case
A blend that crosses borders is not a compromise
A Cuban cigar is an argument for a single place. Every leaf in a Partagás comes from one island, and the blender's skill lies in what he extracts from that constraint.
The New World blender has no such constraint — and that is the whole point. A wrapper grown under shade in Ecuador. Ligero from the volcanic black soil of Estelí. A binder from Jalapa, three valleys north, where the same seed yields a rounder leaf.
This is not a substitute discipline. It is a different one, with different failure modes and a different ceiling. A great New World cigar does what no single terroir can: it holds four distinct characters in tension for ninety minutes without any of them winning.
We are not asking you to stop smoking Cuban. We operate a La Casa del Habano; that would be a strange request. We are asking you to stop treating these as one category with a quality gradient running through it.

Approachable strength, forgiving construction, and a price that does not punish curiosity. A box is not a single stick, so these are the ones still good on the third. Start here if Cuban is all you have smoked.
Short vitolas, narrower rings, done inside forty-five minutes. Half an hour should not mean cutting a ninety-minute cigar short — and most of these come in packs of ten or fewer.
