Quai d'Orsay is a brand designed specifically for the French market. Created in the 1970s, it takes its name from the famous quays along the Seine in Paris. All its vitolas, which are designed to be light, are made from a combination of leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region and dressed in Claro (wax) or Colorado Claro (light brown) capes. All are Totalmento a Mano, Trip Larga (entirely handmade, long filler).

The Quai d'Orsay Corona was available in two versions, Coronas Claro and Coronas Claro Claro. The name behind ‘Coronas’ refers to the colour of the packaging, which in the first case means Colorado Claro (chestnut brown) and in the second case ‘Clarissimo’, which means almost green. However, the second version has disappeared over time. The Quai d'Orsay Corona Claro pampers smokers with pleasant cocoa flavours, combined with woody notes and earthy tones. It is exceptionally mild for a Cuban cigar, making it ideal for beginners.

Brand Story
With its 100 mills, Marie-Galante has always been the island of sugar cane. The Bielle Distillery was founded at the end of the 19th century. It developed over time under different owners. Sugar production was no longer needed in the small "Sucrottes" and was replaced by a distillery producing agricultural rum. The Bielle Distillery continues the old tradition of producing agricultural rum from pure sugar cane juice.

This 2014 vintage is a fine example of this: it bears witness to the expertise and constant quest for quality that are now closely associated with the brand name. Bielle 2014 Brut de fût 56.9° joins the prestigious list of Bruts de fûts from the family distillery on Marie-Galante. Highly anticipated each year, these unreduced and unfiltered agricultural rums are a unique opportunity to taste a preserved terroir. Distilled in 2014 in the Savalle column, this pure cane juice rum was aged for 7 years in bourbon barrels, as well as in barrels of great sweet white wines. It was bottled in 2021 undiluted, brut de fût, so as not to lose any of its aromas.

Tasting Notes
Nose : Rich and full, influenced by the Bourbon cask, vanilla extract, white wood, coconut and a subtle bitterness (grapefruit).
Palate : Full-bodied and incisive, with lively citrus fruit and cloves, bitter orange peel, baked apples and vanilla, while the wood lends a certain freshness.
Finish : Long on lime, sweet spices and the pastry taste of a Bielle baba.
