Château de Laubade 1974 Bas Armagnac
Château de Laubade 1974 Bas Armagnac
Description
Brand Story
Château de Laubade was founded in 1870, in the heart of Bas Armagnac, the noblest terroir. Today, the third generation of the Lesgourgues family is part of a sustainable model, overseeing the destiny of the appellation's largest vineyard, covering 105 hectares and facing the Pyrenees, where the emblematic Baco remains the majority grape variety. Is the only Armagnac House coopering its own casks, from Gascony oak, to ensure the finest maturing process. They use a unique range selection of rare vintages that are aged 15 to 50 years old.
Product Detail
Laubade 1974 is a vintage Bas Armagnac, 100% from the 1974 harvest. It was distilled that same year and then transferred to Gascony oak casks for its traditional ageing. After almost fifty years, it was transferred to smaller casks (between 10 and 25 litres) in order to keep the angels' share to a minimum (evaporation of almost 3% a year) and to stop it coming into contact with the wood. The nose of this 1974 is particularly round and flattering, with notes of vanilla and candied fruit.
