The oldest cigar factory in the Dominican Republi. La Aurora was founded on 3 October 1903 by Eduardo León Jimenes, the hard-working son and grandson of tobacco farmers. Without neglecting his family tradition, he decided to use his knowledge to develop a cigar brand with worldwide appeal. At the age of 18, the founder inherited a few 'tareas' of land and began to realise his dream with a small staff of six, great enthusiasm and a great deal of effort. Today, more than 115 years later, La Aurora is a family business with a presence on five continents, employing more than a thousand people and, under the leadership of his grandson Guillermo León Herbert, continuing to cultivate the La Aurora values: honesty, integrity, a passion for excellence and good relations with suppliers and employees.
