San Cristóbal de la Habana was the first name given to Havana, when it was founded in 1519. Both in honour of Christopher Columbus (hence San Cristobal) and in reference to the name the Indians gave to the site (La Habana).

All the brand's vitolas are hand-crafted with long guts.Trinidad is one of the most prestigious brands of Habanos. The brand was created in 1969 and, like Cohiba, remained an exclusive gift for diplomats and foreign dignitaries for many years. In 1998, the brand was commercialised.
