The tragedy of the lovers of Verona, written by William Shakespeare, was to inspire the name, Romeo y Julieta, of this brand of Habanos created in 1875. Over the years, the brand has established itself as one of the best-known and best-loved Habanos. This reputation is largely due to the legendary "Churchill" vitola. Winston Churchill was one of Romeo y Julieta's most ardent devotees. During his visit to Havana in 1946, his name was not only the subject of a commemorative ring, but was also attributed to one of the brand's most famous models, the Churchill.Trinidad is one of the most prestigious brands of Habanos. The brand was created in 1969 and, like Cohiba, remained an exclusive gift for diplomats and foreign dignitaries for many years. In 1998, the brand was commercialised. The Trinidad brand is aimed above all at Habanos lovers looking for absolute quality with an exclusive character.

It was decided to create this new premium line to celebrate the brand's 145th anniversary in 2020. Línea de Oro, the most exclusive and elegant of the brand's lines. This new line is made up of 3 new vitolas, including two ‘parejos’ and one ‘figurado’, all new to the Romeo y Julieta portfolio, introducing a medium to strong flavour to the brand for the first time. With a 57 ring gauge, Romeo y Julieta Hidalgos are now the brand's largest-diameter cigars.Launched in 2004 and retired after eight years, this vitola left a lasting mark on cigar lovers. In 2024, Habanos S.A. revived it for the Trinidad brand’s 55th anniversary during the Habanos World Days in London. Presented in elegant boxes of three, the cigars feature three bands, including a commemorative anniversary band and the iconic “T” foot band. The medium-bodied Robusto Extra measures 6 1/8” by 50 ring gauge, with a signature pigtail cap. Hand-rolled with select Vuelta Abajo leaves, it preserves the classic, aromatic character of the original.
