1840 would be the first known date of the Punch brand, registered by a German named Stockmann. Manuel Lopez Fernandez became the owner in 1884 and took the cigar up the first steps of the modern era. From 1898 to 1922, thanks to Manuel's inventive and energetic management, the brand reached its peak. In 1930, Punch became part of the Fernandez Palacio Group. Along with Belinda, La Esception and Hoyo de Monterrey, Punch was manufactured in the Rayo Street factory until the advent of the revolution.

The Punch 48 cigar starts off creamy with balanced notes of dried fruit, earth and woody notes. Leathery and floral notes are added later. This cigar is the first to use a second ring with the Habanso Specialist and Casa del Habanos logos.
