The brand's namesake, Hermann Upmann, was the son of a Bremen banker who founded this famous cigar factory in Havana in 1844. After some difficult years, the factory had to be sold in 1937, but today it still guarantees top quality and produces light, medium-sized Havana cigars, with a significant export component. The tobacco comes exclusively from the Vuelta Abajo region. Incidentally, H. Upmann was John F. Kennedy's favourite brand.Trinidad is one of the most prestigious brands of Habanos. The brand was created in 1969 and, like Cohiba, remained an exclusive gift for diplomats and foreign dignitaries for many years. In 1998, the brand was commercialised. The Trinidad brand is aimed above all at Habanos lovers looking for absolute quality with an exclusive character.

Exclusively for La Casas del Habano shops and Habanos Specialists, a new format is now on the market: the H.Upmann Connossieur B. The production name is ‘Geniales’ and the format is identical to that of the popular Montecristo Open Eagle. The Connosieur B is a typical brand blend, light to medium-bodied, made with the best tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo area, the best tobacco-growing area in Cuba. A second ring indicates that they are intended for exclusive sale in La Casas del Habano and Habanos Specialists shops.Launched in 2004 and retired after eight years, this vitola left a lasting mark on cigar lovers. In 2024, Habanos S.A. revived it for the Trinidad brand’s 55th anniversary during the Habanos World Days in London. Presented in elegant boxes of three, the cigars feature three bands, including a commemorative anniversary band and the iconic “T” foot band. The medium-bodied Robusto Extra measures 6 1/8” by 50 ring gauge, with a signature pigtail cap. Hand-rolled with select Vuelta Abajo leaves, it preserves the classic, aromatic character of the original.
